The Ohio Lottery Keno to Go

In early 2020 Covid19 hit and stores, bars and restaurants shut down. With bars and restaurants being the main locations for Keno sales, numbers took a huge dive and players were missing the game. Players have always been able to purchase tickets in-store and watch draws on their phones but this had never been a primary message or driver for Keno marketing, until it was. This campaign was designed to benefit the largest number of retailers in an effort to both drive more sales for the Lottery and these retailers. Our solution to this problem was to create a campaign that was high energy, communicated all the places you could play in a fun and over-the-top way, and utilized illustrations in place of any on screen talent. Through a 30 second broadcast spot, paid social, printed POS materials in a kit, and a variety of self-print customizable social posts and posters, Keno sales bounced back in a big way and mobile cash-outs through the app skyrocketed.
